Meet
the Founder
Tori Kendrick is the founder of Empowered Kids Books LLC and works as a DEI thought leader. Tori trained in Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, holds a M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown University and is a Certified Autism Specialist. Her background in education and social sciences paired with her experience as the mother of a young son on the autism spectrum are the foundation for her writing and the creation of Empowered Kids Books LLC.

James C.A.N. ABCs of Affirmation
James is a talented, smart, and energetic 7-year-old boy. He loves learning new things, playing with his best friends Mila and Grayson, and of course dinosaurs! James has autism which sometimes makes new adventures more challenging for him. James’ parents have created a special version of the alphabet that he recites every day so that he can always remember how special he is. James loves spreading positivity, so he wants to share his ABCs with you!
James C.A.N. Make New Friends
James is a 7 year old boy with many talents who enjoys playing on the playground with his favorite dinosaur, Hercules. James’ parents are taking him to the playground today but he’s nervous about being around the other kids. James has autism which can make making new friends more challenging for him. With the support of his parents will James be able to work through his fear so that he doesn’t miss out on all the fun and maybe even make a new friend, or two?
